Major Requirements for the Proposed Project alias "Statue of Oneness, Acharya Shankar Museum & Acharya Shankar International Institute of Advaita Vedant".

To fulfil the objectives and vision of ASSENYAS, following infrastructures including essential buildings with basic amenities, activity centres, other necessary infrastructural and associated works of international standards are proposed:

Statue of Oneness

A multi-metal statue of Acharya Shankar is to be placed facing the river Narmada towards the south atop a hill popularly known as Mandhata Parvat. The conceptual sketch of The Statue of Oneness is already finalized & unveiled by Hon. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan in the presence of eminent spiritual masters of the country. The painting & sketches of the proposed statue were made by renowned Indian painter Shri Vasudev Kamath. 
As for the sculptor, the one with highest professional & artistic competence who has successfully completed renowned projects of similar nature will be chosen in consultation with Shri Vasudev Kamath. The statue will be created in the guidance of Shri Vasudev Kamath.  

  • The Statue of Oneness will be placed on a 27 feet high Lotus petal base over a 54 feet high pedestal. 
  • The sole height of statue from base i.e. paduka till the apex will be 108 feet.
  • The constitution of Lotus petal base & statue will be done using various composite multi-metals, preferably Ashta-dhatu.  
  • The space underneath pedestal will be used as a meditation hall “Shankar Nidhi-Dhyasan Kendra” 
  • Metals collected from more than 30000 villages of India during “Ekatma Yatra” can also be used during the creation of statue & pedestal.

 

Acharya Shankar Museum

In Acharya Shankar Museum, the life and philosophy of Acharya Shankar will be displayed through the most modern & innovative ways. The museum shall reflect Advaita Vedant philosophy/theme in tangible & intangible forms. All structures shall have visible imprints of Indian culture along with traditional Indian art & architecture. Building materials which are ecologically sustainable, along with techniques of vernacular nature will be used.

1. The museum will reflect regional architectural style of all four mathas established by Acharya Shankar namely Puri (East), Badrika (North), Shringeri (South) and Dwarika (West). 
2. The Sanatan concept of five elements will be incorporated in design: 

  1. Earth: to be depicted in cube.
  2. Water: to be depicted in Circle/ Dome.
  3. Fire: to be depicted in Triangle/ pyramid.
  4. Air: to be depicted in Arc.
  5. Sky: to be depicted in Dot.

Each element will be placed according to Vedic order in the directions as indicated by Vastu-shastra. 
3. Other area requirements:

  1. Maya – A 3D hologram projection gallery Maya with a total capacity of 50 persons will be used to showcase the origin, sustenance & destruction of Universe based on Upanishads in most modern & innovative ways using mechanical & projection techniques.
  2. Exhibition Galleries: The museum complex is proposed to have nine exhibition galleries with the aim of showcasing various life events (Birth, Upanayan, Makar-prasang, Gurudiksha & all other) & contributions (Unification of India, Dashnami Sant parampara, Panchaytan paddhati etc. & all other) of Acharya Shankar in most alluring, modern & innovative ways. These galleries are planned in three clusters with each cluster singularly having three interconnected galleries. Each gallery shall have a minimum seating capacity of 50 persons.
  3. Open Display galleries: All other buffer areas are planned to showcase other exhibits related to twelve Jyotirlingas, Char Dham, Shaktipeeth & other devsthanams through various means to create a cultural trail of life & philosophy of Acharya Shankar. A trail of exhibits shall be planned as “Ekatm path” to showcase “Shankar Digvijayam”.
  4. High Screen Theatre: An indoor large screen theatre with a total seating capacity of 500 persons to show a feature film based on the life & philosophy of Acharya Shankar.
  5. Advaita Nauka Vihaar (Boat Ride): Through this boat ride, the tangible & intangible aspects of important stages of Advaita Vedant traditions (Pre-Shankar Era, Shankar Era & Post Shankar Era) will be shown along the banks of an artificially created water stream using various advanced techniques. This includes the Era of Shripad Shankarachary (Advaita), Shripad Ramanuchary (Vishisht Advaita), Shripad Madhvachary (Dvaita), Shripad Nimbarkachary (Dwaitadwait) & Shripad Vallabhachary (ShuddhAdvaita). 
  6. Laser, Light, Water & Sound Show: An open-air theatre of total capacity 2000 persons is also planned for Laser, Light, Water & Sound Show. The light & sound show will include the Statue of Oneness as one of the medium in the projection. The themes of these shows will be based on the following - Shankar- Journey for Oneness, Shankar Digvijayam, Advaita Vedant Philosophy & Unification of Cultural India& some others.

Acharya Shankar International Institute of Advaita Vedanta

The whole built mass, all techniques, landscape & ambience of the academic centre will be highly durable & of international standards reflecting the indigenous and traditional Indian culture, art & architectural styles. 

The Institute campus will have the following infrastructures:

(1) Academic centres:

The proposed Acharya Shankar International Institute of Advaita-Vedant will be the centreof learning & experience for Vedantic Philosophy & teachings of Acharya Shankar.
The Institute will have the following schools and areas to fulfil their academic requirements:

  1. Acharya Padmapad Advaita Darshan Kendra
    This centre will work towards the study & research on the traditions of Advait Vendant, more graphically towards tracing out and comprehending different milestones of Advait starting from Vedas that developed with advent of time with changing dynamics of society. Besides, the dissemination of this wisdom to the common man in contemporary society will also be the prime objective.
    This centre will prominently display traditional culture, Indian Art & vernacular Architectural style of Eastern region (Puri Kshetra: including the North-eastern part) of India.
    • Acharya Hastāmalak Advaita Vigyan Kendra
      This centre will promote research and interdisciplinary studies on various domains of science such as theoretical physics, quantum physics, cosmology, neurosciences, etc. based on Vedantic perspective. This is to say that the centrewill try to clarify, demonstrate and define the concepts of AdvaitaVedant with the help of modern science. It will also throw light on drawing the parallels between scientific observations and Upanishedic wisdom.
      The aforementioned centre will prominently display traditional culture, Indian Art & vernacular Architectural style of Western regions of India.
    • Acharya Sureshwar Advaita Samajik Vigyan Kendra
      This centre will focus on the study and research related to the social dynamics and the Vedantic solutions of societal problems. The core areas of study and research of this school will be Acharya Shankara's contributions and Advaita as the driving force of society. The relevance, importance and usefulness of Advaita Vedant in contemporary and future society and its dissemination will be its prime focus.
      This centre will prominently display traditional culture, Indian Art & vernacular Architectural style of Southern region of India.
    • Acharya Totak Advaita Sangeet & Kala Kendra
      This centre willpopularize Advaita Vedanta through various artistic means like Painting, Theatre, Dance and Music. Researches and studies based on various other aspects of art & culture will also be done here. Another significant aim is to discover the presence of Advait in various expressions of music and arts. Thus, this centre will also work towards the awareness and awakeningof Advaita through music and arts.
      This centre will prominently display traditional culture, Indian Art & vernacular architectural style of Northern region of India.
    • Acharya Govind Bhagvatpad Advaita Granthalay
      This library will serve as a resource centre and reference library of international standard for scholars working in various fields related to Advaita Vedanta philosophy across the globe. Apart from all texts based on Advaita Vedanta and Acharya Shankar, journals, magazines and books on related and other disciplines will also be available here in printed and digital copies to facilitate and promote inter-disciplinary studies. It will also collect, preserve, digitalise and reproducethe manuscripts on Advaita Vedant under the auspices of this centrein its well-equippedstudio and lab.
      This library is planned to consist of three divisions:
      1. ​A textbooklibrary of total capacity of more than one lakh books including a reading hall with a seating capacity of 200 persons.
      2. Digital library including 100 computer stations along with the seating capacity of the same.​
      3. Manuscript section for manuscript procurement, preservation/ restoration lab, Digitalization & publication section.​
    • Acharya Gaudapad Advaita Vistar Kendra

      This will act as an extension centre to properly disseminate and popularize the contents based on Advait Vedant developed in various forms by other centres of the institute. It will do soby adapting the received content in communicative formslike theatre, ballet, graphics, etc., and further disseminate it through various communication mediums. Facilities supported by the most recent technologies for video production, publication (online & offline), printing (digital & hardcopy), social media management, web development, etc. will be available here so that no stone is left unturned to spread the message of oneness to the masses. In addition to this, this centrewill also devise and conductdifferent training programs on Vedant for different sections of the society.

      1. Information centre (displaying Acharya Gaudpad’s tradition, his life & contributions)
      2. Indoor & Outdoor Theatre.
      3. Communication centre
      4. Publication centrewith advance recording studio, Animation studio. Audio-visual lab
      5. Shastrarth Sabha (capacity-100 persons). 
      6. Open air theatre (capacity 1000 persons).
      7. Meditation hall as “Nidhi-Dhyasan Kendra”.
      8. Meditation cottages MahirshiVedavyasAdvaita Gurukulam .

Mahirshi Vedavyas Advaita Gurukulam


Indian Knowledge Tradition is still surviving by the virtue of incessant tradition of imparting knowledge through Guru-Shishya tradition and Gurukul education. Gurukuls have effectively safeguarded India’s rich Vedic heritage and transferred it to the next generations in row. This centrewill be a residential Gurukula for traditional teaching of Page 12of 14Advaita Vedanta with adequate resources and facilities.Nonetheless, we aspire it to become one of the best models of Vedic Indian Knowledge Tradition around the globe.
This will be a residential school (gurukul) for the study of Advaita Vedant consisting the following:

  1. Shashtrarth Sabha (capacity 200 persons)
  2. Prarthana/ Dhyan Sabha (capacity 200 persons)
  3. Yagya shala
  4. Temple: To be entirely constructed from white marble with engravings of motifs/symbolisms of Advait Vedanta and Indian art. The temple will consist a Shivlingam placed in the centrewith other figurines of Jagatgurus(based on Guru parampara) placed along the walls. This temple will have four entrances dedicated to the four peethas. Each door will have symbols like Mahavakyarelated to that direction’s peeth.
  5. Gau-Shala with adequate green (agricultural) land.

OTHER FACILITIES:

  1. Vice Chancellor’s Office: ​
    The Institute will have separate secretariat for Vice chancellor’s Office including VC’s chamber, retiring room, mini conference room of capacity 20 persons, big conference hall of capacity 100 persons, reception area & waiting lobby where a miniature replica of Statue of Oneness will be kept.
  2. Scholar’s Home (Guest House):
    The Institute will have 50 nos. of 1BHK accommodation units as scholar’s home cum Guest House & Staff quarters (10nos. 1BHK)
  3. Sports Centre:
    The institute will have a full-scalesports centreto provide indoor & outdoor sports activities.
  4. Common mess:
    A primary requirement of the institute is undoubtedly a common mess including an area reserved solely for food preparation with the capacity 700 persons (500 floor-seating/traditional seating pattern & 200 tabled-seating arrangements).
  5. Arogya-Nilayam (Dispensary):
    The Institute will also be having a dispensary consisting of OPD & IPD for both male & female patients housing the appropriate services and facilities for Homeopathic, Allopathic, Ayurvedic/ Naturopathic treatments including Panchkarma.
  6. Project Office & Darshan Kendra:
    On priority, a project office aka Darshan Kendra will be constructed to display the galleries showcasing the journey aboutthis project i.e.,conceptualization of the project, its vision including events of Prakatya Panchami, Vimarsh sabha, Ekatm yatra etc. The galleries will also provide a brief introduction about the Omkareshwar project to the visitors through audio video media. Some of the selected metals/objects collected from more than 30000 villages during Ekatma Yatrawill also be displayed in one of these galleries. Besides, an 18 feet high multi-metal miniature replica of the Statue of Onenesswill also be displayed here.
  7. Residential facilities for staff and guests
  8. Yatri Nivas (Visitors' accommodation facility):
    The Institute campus will have an accommodation facility of 200 rooms & dormitory of 100 beds' capacity. The present NVDA guest house may be used to upgrade to Yatri Nivas.

Suspended Cable Bridge

To connect the Statue of Oneness & Acharya Shankar Museum to the Acharya Shankar International Institute of Advaita Vendat, a suspension bridge will be constructed across the river and used only for pedestrians & motorized vehicle transport.
